My interior sculptures are mainly figurative or portrait sculptures. With the portraiture that I do, I aim to capture more than just a likeness of the person’s features; I want to create a feeling of the essence or personality of the sitter.
I found that the media most suitable to my work is modelling in clay and casting into
bronze or firing into ceramic ‘one off’ pieces.
Naomi Bunker lives and works in a beautiful part of rural Wales UK., "I find my inspiration comes from the awe and mystery I feel from being in nature." In my most recent work I try to capture the timeless moments of magic and love that are sometimes seen in relationships, whether it be for example mother and child, or boy and animal, but whatever the subject matter I want my work to reflect harmony, balance, and a sense of wonder. If I can achieve this I feel my efforts are worthwhile.
