Nathaniel Hester’s (b. 1976; Durham, NC) paintings and prints investigate the incongruous harmonies of the American landscape by featuring surprising shapes, jeweled surfaces, rich tones, and a luminous palette. Mr. Hester’s work has been exhibited and collected throughout the country, most notably at the New York Public Library, the Fogg Art Museum, and the National Book Arts Center. He resides with his wife, their dog, cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and honeybees on a ninth-generation family tobacco farm in the Hester’s Store community of Person County, North Carolina.
